Essential Competencies

* Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Card
* NVQ level 2 Fencing / Proven Industry Experience
* Emergency First Aid at Work – (EFAW)
* Manual Handling
* Must be able to assess information, evaluate solutions and devise appropriate course of action.
* Must have good communication skills in both verbal and the use of written English language.
* Must be computer literate in basic IT skills.
* Must have good observational skills especially for Health, Safety and Quality issues.
* Must be able to provide detailed attention to appropriate design and workmanship information.
* Must be able to recognise, manage and shift priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem solving capabilities.
* Must be focused on all safety, environmental and quality issues on the construction site.
* Must be able to interface professionally with all levels of personnel.
* Must be professional in approach and manner at all times.
* Flexible during periods of change.
* Persuasive, encouraging and motivating.
* Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including senior management, clients and other departments.
* Ability to learn, understand, promote and apply new technologies.
* Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high‑pressure environment is essential.
* To act as an ambassador for RHI Industrials at all times.


Role & Responsibilities

* Monitor daily work activities and report progress and issues to the site manager.
* Ensure company management systems and processes are adhered to.
* Ensure all works are installed and executed in accordance with the contract documents.
* Ensure all Risk Assessments and Method Statements are submitted to the client in time for all programmed activity.
* Ensure all appropriate permits are in place prior to any activity taking place.
* Be proactively involved in supporting the Contract Manager throughout the duration of the project.
* Maintain an accurately detailed daily site diary of site conditions, progress and the resources available to undertake the work activities throughout the construction phase.
* Aid early identification and notification of contract variances and adequately report such issues to the Contract Manager.
* Maintain quality control and test inspection documents for the project.
* Report to site manager to ensure that works are carried out only when prevailing conditions are suitable and that site conditions are appropriate and will not affect the works being implemented, or that the conditions could endanger any individual.
* Promote good practice of material sustainability (Reuse and/or Recycle) initiatives to reduce waste and save costs.
* Ensure that where applicable, contractor's operatives are competent, qualified and licensed to undertake their work activities correctly and that all plant and equipment used is tested, maintained and certified as specified.
* Monitor and record specific or specialist deliveries to site to ensure that the condition of the load meets the standard; that the items are handled correctly, packaging is intact and that storage facilities are appropriate; required protection is provided and correct handling techniques are applied at all times.
* Undertake all necessary checks to ensure that installed services and equipment complies with the contract documentation.
* Record and report all defective materials and substandard quality/workmanship standards that do not meet the works specification/s.
* Determine and assess the need for additional staff and resources.
* Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify project risks and devise contingency plans.
* Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
* Proactive communication with the service and maintenance team, in regards to the status of jobs and planning and completion of works.
* Mentor and develop new engineers within their roles.
