Production Manager
Location: Willenhall
Salary: £45,000 to £50,000 per annum
Hours: Days 8am – 5pm (1pm finish on Friday)
Full-Time – Permanent Position
Our client is a leading precision engineering company, delivering high-quality components to a range of industries. They are looking for an experienced and driven Production Manager to join their Senior Leadership Team and oversee production across multiple units. This is a pivotal role in the business, with responsibility for daily operations, continuous improvement, and team performance.
The role of Production Manager will involve:
1. Managing daily production operations across multiple sites, ensuring delivery targets (OTD, OEE, OTIF) are met
2. Creating Excel-based production plans from job routings and coordinating with Engineering and downstream processes
3. Introducing visual management tools for planning and monitoring progress across units
4. Driving cost reduction and process improvement to maximise operational efficiency
5. Overseeing transport and subcontract services to align with production schedules
6. Updating and maintaining the capacity tracker in collaboration with Business Development and Engineering
7. Leading and motivating a large production team through daily meetings and ongoing performance management
8. Prioritising workloads with Team Leaders and Supervisors
9. Working closely with the Production Expeditor to ensure product flow and timely customer updates
10. Collaborating with the Business Systems Manager to review production plans and recommend productivity improvements
11. Coordinating with Maintenance to plan servicing and improve machine cleanliness and TPM compliance
12. Supporting quality by conducting contract reviews and working with Quality teams to resolve issues
13. Ensuring compliance with AS9100 standards and job card reporting accuracy
14. Driving internal communications, offering technical guidance, and escalating issues where necessary
15. Upholding health and safety standards across all production activities
Job Requirements:
1. Minimum 3 years' experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment
2. Strong knowledge of production planning techniques
3. Understanding of CNC machining and metal fabrication processes
4. Working knowledge of ISO9001 and AS9100 standards
5. Highly proficient in MS Excel and Outlook
6. Knowledge of standard operating procedures and lean manufacturing principles
7. Experience working in a precision machining environment (desirable)
8. Engineering Degree / HND / HNC (desirable)
9. GCSEs in Maths and English at grade C or above
10. Strong verbal and written communication skills
11. Customer-facing communication experience
