Job overview
This is a full-time 10 PA Consultant Dermatology Surgeon post, primarily based at the Friends Dermatology Centre within Kent and Canterbury Hospital (KCH), Canterbury. East Kent boasts a well-established surgical and Mohs micrographic surgery service led by leading UK dermatologic surgeons. We seek an energetic and enthusiastic colleague with an interest in Skin cancer and advanced Skin surgery, with occasional clinics.
Main duties of the job
Role-specific duties include providing a first-class clinical service, leading staff, maintaining high ethical standards, collaborating within the Trust, supporting other specialties, and contributing to postgraduate teaching. The appointee will deliver comprehensive dermatology services, with a preference for a special interest that complements existing consultants.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Responsibilities include delivering excellent clinical care, leading staff, maintaining ethical standards, collaborating within the Trust, supporting postgraduate education, and delivering comprehensive dermatology services. A special interest aligning with existing consultants is encouraged.
Your commitments
* Follow GMC guidance, manage clinical risks, and adhere to infection control policies.
* Audit outcomes, report incidents, and alert the Trust to risks.
* Participate in annual appraisals and foster team relationships.
* Communicate effectively across departments and with GPs.
* Undertake non-emergency work as needed.
* Respond to patient complaints per policy.
* Assist with financial sustainability and give notice for leave.
Teaching
Contribute to training the next generation of healthcare professionals, supervise junior staff, and maintain educational development. New consultants are required to enroll in an educational supervisor course.
Research
We encourage research activity, supporting new Consultants to act as Principal Investigators with full training.

Qualifications and training
* Full GMC Registration
* Eligible for GMC Specialist Register or CCT within 6 months
* English Level 2 (GCSE C or equivalent), IELTS, or UK Medical School graduate
* Extensive dermatology knowledge and experience
* Experience with advanced skin grafts and flaps, Mohs training
