Description Role: Learning Manager Academy: Outwood Academy Valley Start Date: As soon as possible Salary (Actual Salary): £26,690 to £27,577 Working Pattern: 37 Hours Per Week, Monday to Friday, Term Time only plus 10 days (40 weeks) Are you ready to be a champion for student success? This position is perfect for someone passionate about removing academic and behavioral barriers to learning, ensuring all students thrive in a supportive educational setting, and effectively managing complex student cases in collaboration with external agencies. Outwood Academy Valley has an exciting opportunity for a Learning Manager to join our team. You will be required to support learning through the use of data, strategic intervention and monitoring to maximise student attainment. As a Learning Manager you must have the ability to work with students and have a real interest in the issues faced by the students. You will monitor and support all students in the year group, both academically and behaviourally. You will work closely with the Inclusion Coordinator and the Leadership Team on improving student behaviour, attendance and outcomes. Day to day, you will work with students to help them to be the best they can be. The successful candidate must be extremely well organised, have the ability to prioritise work and ensure that strict deadlines are met. The ability to work on your own initiative and be able to lead by example are essential. You will be required to deal with students, parents and outside agencies in a professional, prompt and confidential manner. Key duties include acting as the first point of contact for behaviour related incidents and supporting the Consequences process, including contacting parents regarding exclusions and supporting readmission meetings. A core function is inter-agency liaison, including chairing Children in Need and Team Around the Child meetings, undertaking referrals for families, and supporting the Education Welfare Officer with truancy sweeps. Qualifications The successful applicant must have experience of working in a school environment and demonstrable knowledge of issues affecting students and young people, including how to offer supportive assistance. Essential skills include the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of audiences, verbally and in writing, and proficiency in using standard ICT packages, including Microsoft Office. Crucially, candidates must be able to work well under pressure, manage competing deadlines, relate sympathetically to students, and recognise potential child safeguarding issues.
