Peer Support Worker, North Tyneside Safe Haven
Enhancements paid for evenings, weekends and bank holidays
Part-time 18.5 hours per week
Hours: Monday to Sunday between 2pm-10pm
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Peer Support Worker to join our upcoming service, launching in July.
You will empower individuals in their recovery journeys by harnessing their assets and strengths within themselves and their communities. Additionally, you will promote the value of the service through positive promotion and data collection in line with reporting requirements.
About The Role
* Support the community, including those with lived experience of mental health conditions, to increase resilience through activities, service shaping, and involvement.
* Assist individuals and communities in identifying and engaging in activities that support mental health and healthy lifestyles.
* Work with a range of service users to identify needs and improve service accessibility.
* Reach out actively to those requiring more intensive support and connect them with appropriate services.
* Perform any reasonable duties to meet organizational needs.
About You
* Experience in a similar role and providing 1:1 peer support
* Understanding of recovery in mental health
* Lived experience or awareness of mental health issues
* Knowledge of pathways and support systems
* Strong communication, customer service, relationship-building, interpersonal, and presentational skills
* IT skills including Office 365
