SUMMARY
As a Registered Polysomnographer, you will play a vital role in assessing sleep disorders and delivering top-notch care. You’ll work in accordance with federal and state regulations, utilizing professional AASM care processes to provide exceptional treatment. Your expertise will help us uphold the high standards set by the National Board for Respiratory Care and the New York State Education Department.

POSITION DETAILS
STATUS: Full-time
LOCATION: Canton-Potsdam Hospital
DEPARTMENT: Respiratory
SCHEDULE: 12-hour shifts, 7 PM - 7 AM
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
ATTRIBUTES:
* Required: NYS Licensure as an Authorized Polysomnographic Technologist or Respiratory Therapist with Registry by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists.
* Preferred: NYS Licensure as an Authorized Polysomnographic Technologist with Registry and a degree from an accredited program in Respiratory Care or Polysomnography.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
* Perform and document sleep study scoring according to the American Academy of Sleep Medicine standards.
* Initiate and conduct all polysomnographic recordings, performing comprehensive patient assessments to identify needs and administer appropriate therapies.
* Maintain quality records and suggest opportunities for improvement.
* Provide education to patients, families, staff, and other healthcare providers.
* Conduct discharge planning and documentation to ensure continuity of care post-discharge.
* Collaborate with the Respiratory Director and Sleep Lab Assistant to ensure seamless patient care.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Physical Demands: Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly. This role requires frequent walking, standing, or squatting.
PAY RANGE
PAY RANGE: $35.42 - $52.55
This pay range represents a good faith estimate of the potential base pay for a successful full-time applicant. Pay may be adjusted based on experience, qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
