Finance Director | Part Time, 3-4 Days per Week | Up to £95k FTE (pro rata) | EdTech SaaS | Huddersfield
An established and fast-growing EdTech company based in Huddersfield is looking for a commercially minded Finance Director to join its leadership team.
Following a strong period of growth, the company is entering an exciting new stage focused on scaling its SaaS platform, expanding internationally, and building a more data-driven culture. To support this, the leadership team is seeking an experienced finance professional who can combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
The Opportunity
This is a high-impact role for a Finance Director who enjoys both shaping strategy and managing detail. You will take ownership of the entire finance function, ensuring robust financial management, clear reporting, and a scalable framework to support continued growth.
You will work closely with the CEO and senior leaders to provide financial insight, investor confidence, and operational excellence. This role suits someone from a SaaS or subscription-based environment who understands ARR, deferred revenue, and the financial dynamics of a recurring revenue model.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with the CEO and senior leadership to shape and deliver financial and commercial strategy
Build and manage financial models, forecasts, and budgets with a focus on SaaS metrics such as ARR and churn
Produce insightful board-level management packs and KPIs that guide decision making
Oversee day-to-day finance operations including payroll, reconciliations, and financial reporting
Strengthen internal processes, systems, and controls to support scale and efficiency
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, audits, and tax obligations
Collaborate across departments to drive commercial performance and pricing strategy
About You
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
Strong experience in SaaS or subscription-based businesses with deep knowledge of ARR and deferred revenue
Comfortable working across both strategic and operational levels
Skilled at producing insightful board packs and commercial analysis
Organised, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-moving, growing business
Strong communicator who builds trust across teams and stakeholders
