PRS Manager (Enforcement) Permanent Grade D - £45,091 – £53,460 Consultation grade - subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review Working 36.5 hours per week Can you help Birmingham’s Private Rented Services to deliver the Renters Right Act 2025? We’re seeking an experienced and motivated PRS Manager to join our Private Rented Services Enforcement team. You will lead a team to deliver high-quality services to tenants, landlords, and property owners in the Private Rented Sector (PRS), ensuring compliance with legislation and supporting Birmingham City Council’s objectives. This is a dynamic role requiring strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage resources effectively in a fast-paced environment. What you’ll do Manage and supervise a team, ensuring performance standards and service targets are met. Provide advice and support to tenants and landlords, promoting best practice and compliance. Oversee service budgets and monitor expenditure in line with Council regulations. Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve service delivery. Build and maintain effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including tenancy law and HMO licensing. Represent the Council in legal proceedings and public enquiries where required. What you’ll need Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in a relevant field. Proven leadership and team management experience. Strong knowledge of housing legislation and enforcement procedures. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Ability to manage budgets and deliver value for money. Flexible and adaptable to meet service needs, including occasional evening/weekend work.
