Overview
We are seeking a Technical Lead to join a growing engineering and fabrication division, taking a hands-on role in delivering complex structural and steelwork projects. This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineer to step into a leadership role, shaping delivery processes and mentoring the next generation of engineers.
The Role
As Technical Lead, you will:
* Provide technical leadership across a wide range of steelwork and structural engineering packages.
* Oversee steel connection design, live amendments, and complex site-stage engineering solutions.
* Lead and mentor engineers within the design and technical team.
* Work closely with fabrication and construction teams to resolve technical challenges and ensure safe, efficient delivery.
* Contribute to developing in-house design capabilities, with opportunities to expand into full structural design and refurbishment projects in the future.
About You
We\'re looking for someone with:
* Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (or related discipline).
* Chartered status (CEng, MIStructE, or equivalent) preferred.
* Extensive experience in steelwork design, fabrication, welding, and site installation.
* Solid understanding of connection design, detailing, and temporary works.
* Ability to work in live construction environments, solving practical engineering problems.
* Leadership qualities with experience mentoring or managing junior engineers.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work across design, fabrication, and site teams.
