Are you passionate about inspiring the next generation of learners in mathematics and numeracy? We’re looking for a dedicated and energetic Lecturer in Mathematics and Numeracy to join our Social Science and Integrated Curriculum Services team on a temporary basis.
About the Role
You will play a key role in teaching Mathematics and Numeracy from SCQF Level 4 to Level 7, across a range of courses including Higher, NC, NQ, HNC and entry-level programmes. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to student success while shaping innovative learning experiences. This role will be worked across our Sighthill and Granton Campuses.
What You’ll Do
1. Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching and learning in mathematics and numeracy.
2. Design and prepare teaching materials to suit a variety of learning levels.
3. Assess, monitor, and record student progress in line with college policies.
4. Provide first-line academic guidance and support to learners.
5. Contribute to curriculum development and programme marketing.
6. Actively engage in continuous professional development and quality improvement.
7. Ensure inclusivity, equality and student wellbeing are at the heart of teaching.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
8. Degree-level qualification in Mathematics (SCQF Level 9)
9. TQFE or equivalent teaching qualification (or willingness to achieve).
10. GTCS registration (or eligibility within 6 months).
11. Current experience teaching Maths/Numeracy at SCQF Levels 4–7.
12. Experience teaching NQ mathematics courses SCQF Levels 5 - 6
13. Excellent presentation, communication, and ICT skills.
14. Ability to motivate and inspire students, while adapting to changing needs.
Desirable:
15. Experience teaching HN Mathematics units.
16. PDA in Teaching & Learning or equivalent.
17. Experience with internal verification.
