Role Overview:
As a Bar & Restaurant Supervisor, you will play a key role in overseeing the daily operations of both the bar and restaurant areas. You'll be responsible for ensuring high standards of service, maintaining smooth operations, and leading a team of staff. Your leadership will be crucial in creating a welcoming and efficient atmosphere for both customers and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leadership & Supervision: Supervise and support bar and restaurant staff, ensuring efficient workflow and outstanding service at all times.
* Customer Service: Deliver an exceptional customer experience by overseeing service, addressing customer needs, and ensuring satisfaction.
* Staff Training & Development: Provide on-the-job training, motivate staff, and ensure adherence to standards of conduct and performance.
* Inventory Management: Oversee stock levels, monitor supplies, and ensure that bar and restaurant equipment is well-maintained.
* Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure that all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations are strictly followed.
* Shift Management: Coordinate staff schedules, manage shifts, and ensure that all areas are appropriately staffed during peak times.
* Cash Handling & Financials: Manage cash register, process payments, and assist with daily financial reconciliation.
* Problem Solving: Handle customer complaints or concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring any issues are resolved effectively.
Skills & Experience Required:
* Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within a bar or restaurant setting is essential.
* Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
* Excellent customer service skills with a passion for hospitality.
* Knowledge of food and drink menus, including wines, cocktails, and pub favorites.
* Ability to manage busy periods and maintain calm under pressure.
* A flexible, can-do attitude with a willingness to go the extra mile.
* Basic financial and administrative skills (cash handling, reconciliation, ordering stock).
* A valid Personal License (or the ability to obtain one) is preferred.
