Job Description:
The Associate Director Sustainable Procurement is responsible for leading teams and programmes to help clients meet their social and environmental targets. This role involves orienting clients’ procurement operations towards net zero and improved environmental and social outcomes across multiple projects.
The successful candidate will impact large-scale flagship projects, working with and managing a team of procurement and sustainability specialists. The employer encourages and supports obtaining MCIPS status, with ongoing professional development opportunities.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Manage sustainable procurement initiatives across various projects to enhance environmental, social, and economic outcomes.
* Lead project teams and contribute to global transformation programmes.
* Provide guidance and challenge to colleagues on client projects.
* Identify and improve clients’ environmental performance to meet sustainability targets.
* Develop sustainable procurement services and propositions.
* Drive business generation in sustainable procurement.
* Contribute to team and business targets.
Desired Skills and Experience
* Experience in implementing sustainable procurement strategies.
* Knowledge of procurement insights and research.
* Previous consulting experience in procurement.
* Experience with ISO 20400 (preferred but not essential).
* Strong leadership and project management skills.
* Experience in developing client-facing propositions.
* Understanding of ESG legislation and regulations.
* Supplier engagement experience.
* Independent, confident, and autonomous work style.
* Mentorship and team guidance abilities.
* Ability to manage business development activities.
* Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
* Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Sustainability, Business Management, or related fields.
* Willingness to pursue Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply.
