Overview
We are expanding our Lichfield office and are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Tax Compliance Manager/Senior Manager to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our growth while advancing your career within a dynamic and supportive environment.
Responsibilities
* Corporate Tax Compliance Management: Lead the preparation, review, and submission of corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with UK tax legislation. Oversee the entire compliance lifecycle, from data collection to final submission and client approval. Collaborate closely with audit teams to align tax compliance efforts with broader financial audits, ensuring a seamless integration of services.
* Team Leadership & Development: Build, manage, and mentor a team of tax professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and high performance. Play a central role in recruitment and development of new team members. Conduct regular performance reviews, set objectives, and provide coaching for professional growth.
* Research & Technical Review: Perform detailed technical reviews of tax computations and filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Stay ahead of legislative changes, conduct tax research to support client needs, and inform internal knowledge sharing. Approve final tax returns before submission, maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
* Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on all compliance matters, providing expert advice and proactive communication. Develop a deep understanding of each client’s business to offer tailored tax compliance solutions aligned with their goals. Support clients during tax audits and enquiries, working with HMRC as needed.
* Process Improvement & Innovation: Continuously assess and enhance tax compliance processes, incorporating best practices and technology. Introduce and manage new software tools to improve efficiency and accuracy in tax compliance. Collaborate with other departments, particularly audit, to streamline processes and improve service delivery.
* Strategic Growth & Business Development: Contribute to the strategic growth of the tax practice by identifying new opportunities and expanding service offerings. Participate in business development activities, including client pitches, proposals, and networking. Play a key role in shaping the future of the tax practice with clear opportunities for promotion as the firm grows.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience: Minimum of 5+ years in corporate tax compliance, with experience managing large business clients and leading a team.
* Certifications: CTA/ACA qualification or equivalent is highly preferred.
* Technical Expertise: Proficiency with Alphatax or similar tax software; deep knowledge of UK corporate tax laws and regulations.
* Collaborative Skills: Ability to work closely with audit teams, ensuring alignment of tax compliance with broader financial audits.
* Leadership: Strong track record in managing and developing a team, with a focus on mentoring and performance management.
* Client Focus: Excellent communication skills and a client-centric approach, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
