Join our dynamic and multidisciplinary Water Team as a Principal Hydrologist in one of our UK offices, while also taking advantage of our flexible hybrid working model. This role involves managing resources and identifying training requirements across our northern modelling teams. It is a new role, offering you the opportunity to develop it with the support of a national modelling community. Here's what you'll do:
Deliver:
Lead flood hydrological assessments supporting flood alleviation schemes, flood risk assessments, and Environment Agency flood maps. Review hydrological assessment reports. Quality:
Stay updated on relevant legislation and guidelines, sharing insights with the team. Apply industry standards like FEH for flood flow estimations across England. Collaboration:
Build relationships with clients and technical teams. Support business development activities for national and international projects. Support:
Mentor team members in hydrological estimation to aid their professional growth. Lead:
Represent AECOM at conferences, promote innovation, and actively participate in our community of hydrologists and hydraulic modellers. Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a relevant discipline. Chartered member of ICE or CIWEM. Significant experience in flood flow estimation using FEH and REFH2, including rating reviews. Deep understanding of statistical hydrological analysis. Experience working with hydraulic models for calibration. Strong GIS skills with QGIS, ArcGIS, and/or MapInfo, and familiarity with Hydrology+.
