We are seeking a dynamic and experienced data analyst to join our Thrive Programme compile and analyse individual and speciality level Signal and USAL data, providing an analysis of what the data shows about staff Epic proficiency and personalisation.
The ideal candidate will have a degree or equivalent experience, exceptional communication skills, and the passion and drive to work autonomously to deliver real time data reporting and benefits and outcomes tracking. This role involves working with the Thrive Programme Manager and EPR Training Manager to compile and analyse individual and speciality level Signal and USAL data, providing an analysis of what the data shows about staff Epic proficiency and personalisation. The candidate will also deliver group Slicer Dicer training to clinicians.
Main duties of the job
1. In preparation for the Thrive speciality optimisation sprints, work with the EPR Training Manager to compile and analyse individual and speciality level Signal and USAL data, providing an analysis of what the data shows about staff Epic proficiency and personalisation.
2. Investigate Thrive Programme requirements and end users’ preferences around the needed quantitative and qualitative data outputs and populate databases as required.
3. Design and build reports to track uptake of Thrive observations and 1-2-1 personalisation sessions as well as tasks coming out of the sprints.
4. Analyse and document routine clinical and administrative workflows, information, data collection and/or reporting requirements.
5. Present Epic Signal and USAL data back to clinicians so they can understand their user-level Physician Efficiency Profile (PEP) data, including support on how they can use In Basket, orders, notes, and clinical review.
6. Train clinicians and service managers on using Epic Reporting Workbench function in the Cogito Analytics module when required.
7. Ensure end users are given the appropriate levels of access and security to the Epic Reporting Workbench function as defined by their job role.
8. Following the speciality optimisation sprints put data into report formats for presentation at speciality and trust meetings.
9. Chase colleagues and Trust staff to provide information in a timely fashion to enable deadlines to be met.
10. Report on metrics progress on a weekly basis to the Thrive Programme Team.
11. Input data into spreadsheets, Word documents or PowerPoint presentations, ensuring accuracy and adhering to style guides/templates.
12. Manipulate data and/or run collate reports or other documentation as required for the EPR Programme team, board meetings or events.
13. Work with the Thrive Programme Team and the wider EPR Team to ensure the applications produce all reports required by the department.
14. Work with the Thrive Programme Team to incorporate feedback from the Team, wider EPR team and other stakeholders are incorporated into the data collection and reporting as appropriate, making changes as appropriate.
In addition to an interview, the interview will include onsite in person competency testing.

Academic/Professional qualification/Training

* Degree level qualification or equivalent knowledge and experience
* Maths and English GCSE grade C or above or equivalent qualification

Desirable criteria
* Certification in Epic or other EPR reporting tools or databases Clarity / Caboodle / Chronicles

* IT qualification in MS Office or equivalent experience
Experience/Knowledge
Essential criteria
* Experience in an information role involving analysis of complex data in a hospital environment
* Experience of querying databases using SQL/SQL Servers (or similar) including advanced querying and report writing
* Experience of data quality / data integrity monitoring and improvement
* Experience of successfully managing a number of equally important tasks successfully
* Knowledge of Information Governance, SOPs and other governance, national and professional standards of practice or other regulations
Desirable criteria
* Previous NHS Experience
* Operational or clinical knowledge of a specific area including knowledge of relevant operational policies and procedures
* Experience of data capture process re-design, critical analysis and implementation of change
* Experience of Epic EPR configuration

* Excellent organisation and planning skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clinical staff as well as to a non-technical audience
* Able to prioritise tasks to achieve deadlines whilst working under pressure and with frequent interruptions

* Intermediate knowledge of IT systems and competency in software programmes such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
* Reporting software ( Tableau) or equivalent development and data manipulation skills

* Ability to concentrate for long periods of time on complex data and process analysis
