We are recruiting a HGV Technician to join our depot in Northampton. As a key member of our front-line team you will diagnose, service and repair a wide variety of vehicles across our fleet. Specialist training will be provided, where needed, to develop your existing skills to support our specialist assets. NRG Riverside has been dedicated to supplying vehicles and plant on contract hire and rental to private sector companies and central and local government since 1996. We have grown our business by demonstrating a thorough understanding of our customers’ operations, the vehicles they use, and the unique demands placed on those vehicles. We provide Contract Hire, Rental and Fleet Management, Maintenance and Body shop activities to large PLCs, Local Authorities and Private Waste Contractors throughout the UK and currently operate and own over 3000 specialist commercial vehicles. Our main markets cover the waste, specialist, and recycling sectors, in addition to the distribution and logistics arena. Location: Northampton Hours: Up to 45 hours a week available Salary: £45,227.40 per annum, plus Depot Performance Bonus up to £3,000 Routine servicing and MOT inspections in line with DVSA standards Ensure all vehicles and trailers are maintained to a roadworthy standard Diagnosing and subsequent repairing of all types of faults Completing documentation in line accurately with required company standard Exciting opportunity to work on a varied and specialised fleet ranging from small vans to large HGV’s Working with colleagues as required to ensure customer service is at a premium Requirements HGV Technical qualification - NVQ or City and Guilds equivalent. Class 2 licence preferred. Experience of working in a similar role with an understanding of the HGV industry. Excellent customer service. Great team player whilst also able to work on own initiative. Experience in the Waste/Recycling industry would be great, but not essential. Awareness and understanding of Health and Safety practices.
