Senior Construction Project Manager
South West - Hybrid with site visits
6-Month Interim Contract
£450-£500 per day (Inside IR35)
A Local Authority in the South West is looking for an experienced Senior Construction Project Manager to lead two major capital projects:
Cemetery Expansion – currently at construction tender stage, with works due to start Spring 2026
Cremator Replacement – at concept design stage, working on a joint-venture project to develop the full business caseThis is a client-side role managing scope, budget, stakeholder engagement, and governance across both projects. You’ll work closely with internal teams, contractors, and external partners to ensure successful delivery.
Key responsibilities:
Manage scope, budget, programme, and stakeholder engagement
Lead procurement, contract awards, and internal reporting
Oversee health and safety, planning interfaces, and governance documentation
Represent the council in commercial relationships and statutory processesEssential experience:
Proven client-side construction project management within a Local Authority
Experience working on Cemetery Expansion or Replacement Projects
Strong understanding of planning, tendering, infrastructure, and public sector delivery
