Senior Governance Officer

Good governance supports the university to succeed and is critical to maintain the trust and confidence of the regulators and the public. The Secretariat supports the Board of Governors and the university executive to make informed and compliant decisions.
Reporting to the Head of Governance and Assurance you will provide professional governance advice and administrative support to the University’s committees including the Board of Governors and its sub‑committees. You will ensure that the governance framework is up to date and fit for purpose and actively work to improve delivery and development of all governance procedures and systems.
Based at the Llandaff campus with flexible working, you will work collegiately across the university to deliver an excellent service.
What You’ll Bring
We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised governance professional, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who is happy to use technology to improve our ways of working. You will have a degree or equivalent, and experience of servicing formal boards or committees, including planning successful meetings and drafting clear and accurate minutes.
 * UK and Welsh higher education and charity governance
 * Records management principles, retention schedules and archiving practices
