We’re offering an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Building Surveyor to join our vibrant Building Consultancy team in Preston, Lancashire. This role offers exposure to projects across private, healthcare, education, local authorities, and public sectors. From early design to project completion, you'll gain experience in building inspections, design solutions, measured surveys, and condition reports. Working with experienced Chartered Surveyors and supported by our team, you'll help develop client briefs and contribute to building projects.
This role is ideal for recent graduates or those with 1–3 years' experience seeking career advancement. What you'll be doing:
1. Undertake measured and condition surveys and defect analysis.
2. Assist in managing building contracts, maintaining contractual and fiscal control.
3. Monitor small works contracts and conduct site visits.
4. Perform snagging inspections to monitor quality and workmanship.
5. Prepare specifications, drawings, and schedules of works.
6. Lead project design and delivery from inception to completion.
7. Conduct defect diagnosis inspections and prepare reports with recommendations.
8. Prepare health and safety information pre-construction.
9. Coordinate with clients, contractors, and consultants.
About you:
1. Experience in a similar role, from placements or post-graduation employment.
2. A degree in Building Surveying or expected graduation this year.
3. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
4. Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced environment.
5. Proficient in IT, especially AutoCAD.
