Our client is a well-established and growing organisation operating across the construction, maintenance, access, and compliance sectors, delivering high-quality projects nationwide. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Procurement Lead / Construction Buyer to join their Procurement and Supply Chain team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused procurement professional looking to take ownership of purchasing activities across both maintenance contracts and construction projects. Key Duties: Lead procurement activities across maintenance contracts and large-scale construction projects Raise and manage purchase orders in line with procurement and financial procedures Source, evaluate, and appoint materials suppliers and subcontractors Negotiate pricing, supplier agreements, lead times, and service levels Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships and trade accounts Identify cost-saving and value-engineering opportunities across the supply chain Monitor supplier performance, quality standards, and delivery reliability Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Finance teams to align procurement with project schedules Manage invoice approvals, cost tracking, and resolution of discrepancies Analyse procurement data and produce reports on spend, trends, and supplier performance Maintain accurate supplier databases and procurement records Liaise with suppliers and contractors to resolve delivery or supply issues Support fleet and plant procurement, including servicing schedules, MOTs, and stock control Attend pre-start meetings to provide procurement and supply chain input What we are looking for in the successful candidate: Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Construction Buyer, Procurement Lead, or Purchasing Specialist Background in construction, maintenance, or building services procurement preferred Strong commercial awareness with proven negotiation skills Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines Confident using procurement systems, stock control software, and CRM platforms IT-literate with proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Strong communication skills with the ability to engage suppliers and internal stakeholders Able to work independently and perform under pressure in a fast-moving environment Full UK driving licence required Fleet or plant management experience (Desirable) What our Client can offer in return: Competitive salary (£28,000 – £38,000 DOE) Private Medical Insurance Access to an in-house fully equipped company gym Regular company and team events Clear career progression within a growing organisation Exposure to a broad range of construction, maintenance, access, fire remediation, and compliance projects Supportive and collaborative working environment Long-term job security with a stable and reputable employer
