An outstanding opportunity for a dynamic and visionary leader to join a leading MGA Underwriter as the Property & Casualty Underwriting Manager and drive the business forwards. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, you will play a pivotal role in defining and delivering our underwriting strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership: Lead the underwriting team to set and execute underwriting strategies, ensuring performance targets and KPIs are met across Property & Casualty product lines.
2. Binder Management: Oversee daily management of binders, exercise judgment in all underwriting matters, and monitor performance including exposure, rate movement, claims trends, and capacity reviews.
3. Business Development: Develop growth strategies and implement action plans. Build meaningful, long-term relationships with new and existing partners.
4. Agent Development: Grow the agency database through visits, promoting products, target markets, and appetite.
5. Financial Oversight: Manage budgets, financial planning, and monitor key metrics like loss ratio and underwriting performance to ensure stability and growth.
6. Operational Excellence: Oversee daily operations, ensure efficiency, and promote continuous process improvement.
7. Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with FCA regulations and manage business risks effectively.
8. Customer-Centric Approach: Align underwriting strategies with agent requirements and satisfaction, fostering a customer-first service experience.
9. Team Development: Cultivate a culture of collaboration, accountability, and inclusivity, nurturing talent and developing a high-performance team.
