Join a team shaping the future of Aerospace & Defence technology! As a Materials Planner, you’ll play a key role in ensuring that every component, material, and process is ready to keep our rocket propulsion programmes firing on all cylinders.
This is a hands-on role at the heart of our manufacturing operations—balancing material supply, production scheduling, and supplier performance to deliver world-class quality on time and on budget.
What You’ll Do - Materials Planner (MRP)
* Run and maintain the MRP system to ensure materials and parts are available to meet production schedules.
* Plan and procure raw materials, components, and consumables in line with build plans and lead times.
* Raise and manage purchase orders, track supplier performance, and resolve any shortages or delays.
* Develop and maintain short- and medium-term production schedules, ensuring alignment with the Master Production Plan.
* Keep inventory levels balanced — preventing shortages, reducing waste, and managing obsolescence.
* Maintain MRP data accuracy, including quality assurance and shelf-life materials.
* Work cross-functionally with Procurement, Logistics, Quality, and Production teams to keep everything moving smoothly.
* Support stock control activities, reporting on KPIs and identifying opportunities for improvement.
About You - Materials Planner (MRP)
* Experienced in materials and/or production planning within a manufacturing environment.
* Skilled in using MRP/ERP systems (Tropos experience a plus).
* Confident managing complex BOMs, long lead times, and multi-stage processes.
* Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable juggling competing priorities.
* Strong communicator who thrives in a fast-paced, technical environment.
Qualifications - Materials Planner (MRP)
* Minimum of 5 GCSEs (including Maths & English) and a Level 3 qualification (A-Level or equivalent).
* IT literate with strong Excel and MRP/ERP system skills.
