Shift: 2x Days: 4 on 4 off, 12 hours per day, 7am – 7pm.
Salary: Days: £14.50 per hour
Nights: £16.00 per hour
About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for 3 Materials & Stock Controllers to join our operational support team at our Ultrapharm site as part of the Finsbury Food Group. The Materials & Stock Controller roles support the day-to-day management of stock control processes and systems within a busy manufacturing environment. You’ll be responsible for ensuring accurate MRP data, investigating stock discrepancies, and keeping our systems and processes in check to support 24/7 production. This role is key to maintaining data integrity, supporting operational teams, and driving stock accuracy across the site.

The Company’s unique approach to craft and baking creates premium gluten – free products with the flavour and taste of traditional bread. If you have special dietary need or nutritional preferences, then our Pontypool bakery has you covered. Our Products range from artisanal bread to our award winning Hot cross buns and Mince pies for Major Retailers such as M&S and Waitrose.
To be successful, you will be...
* Experienced in stock counting and stock control processes (essential)
* Proficient in Excel, with the ability to export and manipulate data
* Numerate, detail-focused, and comfortable working with large data sets
* A clear communicator who can work cross-functionally and manage system queries
* Proactive, organised, and supportive of continuous improvement initiatives
* Flexible and willing to provide cover across roles as required to support the team
This is what you’ll actually do
* Accurately close Manufacturing Orders (MOs) and investigate material variances
* Act as the first point of contact for M3 or system-related queries on shift
* Support stock integrity through regular cycle counts and spot checks
* Proactively identify and resolve system or data issues, escalating where needed
* Assist colleagues in correct use of M3, ensuring materials are accurately booked and issued
* Support labour, downtime, and waste reporting through Start/Stop and ensure M3 is updated correctly
* Maintain working knowledge of the Stevens Scale system interface with M3
* Help create and maintain SOPs, support training, and promote system compliance
* Report stock and system issues at Tier 1 (SIC) meetings and contribute to site materials meetings
* Follow “clean as you go” practices and adhere to site safety and quality standards
* Provide absence, sickness, and holiday (ASH) cover one level up and one level down to maintain operations
Ideally, this is you
* Previous stock counting and variance investigation experience (essential)
* Experience with M3 or a similar MRP/ERP system (desirable)
* Understanding of material flow and stock control in a manufacturing environment
* Detail-driven, numerate, and confident working with systems
* A collaborative team player with a clear and proactive communication style
