Working in a team of maintenance engineers in a fast-flowing, steel manufacturing environment, you will ensure that all site, plant and machinery is maintained in good working order and state of repair.
Your key task is to support the running of the factory by:
* Reacting quickly to emergency breakdowns and working efficiently to resolve the issue.
* Investigating reported faults, identifying the cause and deciding the actions necessary for rectification.
* Learning from breakdowns and providing feedback and continuous improvement suggestions.
* Ensuring daily checks are carried out to agreed schedules.
* Carrying out planned preventative maintenance tasks on a full range of equipment on site.
* Supervising external contractors and ensuring compliance with contractual commitments and health and safety policies.
* Supporting colleagues and assist with their training.
Skills required:
* Recognised qualifications (Apprenticeship, BTEC, C&G, NVQ level 3)
* Experience in fault finding, testing and rectification.
* Highly organised, methodical and safe approach to all tasks.
* Able to work to deadlines and with minimal supervision.
* Enthusiastic, “can do” attitude.
* Keen to learn, curious and proactive.
* Willingness to help others.
* Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
* Experience in mechanical, hydraulic, electrical & crane systems is desirable but not essential.

* £29,000 - £38,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
