Role Overview
Protective Security IT is seeking an experienced Technology Product Owner with Protective Security transformation experience to join the Access Control Pod.
This role is responsible for leading and supporting the delivery of Access Control and Access Management transformation initiatives and run‑the‑business programmes, while also supporting the Technology Leadership Team in executing the overall technology strategy.
Key Responsibilities
1. Collaborate with global Access Control business stakeholders, leaders, and architects to refine and prioritise the product backlog to maximise business value.
2. Define and drive execution of all transformation technology initiatives within the Access Control sub‑stream.
3. Actively manage and monitor all budgetary requirements within the Access Control Pod to support short‑ and long‑term business vision.
4. Assess and ensure business demand aligns with investment plans and technology strategy.
5. Support management of the Technology–Business relationship; represent Technology in business discussions and ensure required capabilities are developed.
6. Ensure technology vision, strategy, and plans are effectively communicated across delivery teams.
7. Lead an Agile pod to maximise delivery velocity and alignment with business priorities.
8. Drive innovation and proof‑of‑concepts to shape Access Control strategy and roadmap.
9. Promote a culture of customer centricity across delivery teams.
10. Ensure alignment with organisational standards, governance, and documentation requirements
experience Required
11. experienced technology manager delivering large‑scale transformation and run‑the‑business programmes using externally hosted, cloud‑based SaaS / PaaS solutions and third‑party providers.
12. Extensive experience in Agile delivery, DevOps, and product ownership.
13. Protective Security business process transformation or optimisation experience.
14. Hands‑on experience with Protective Security technologies including Access Control, CCTV, Intruder Detection, and PSIM.
15. Proven people management experience across diverse capability levels.
16. Demonstrated capability in IT Service Management / Ownership (Services, Incidents, Problems, Changes, Releases, Risk, Data).
17. experience of global technology transformation or service introduction within complex, multinational environments.
18. experience working within regulated industries and associated governance frameworks (Financial Services desirable).
Skills & Knowledge
19. Strong budget management and financial reporting capability at Pod or department level.
20. Deep understanding of Protective Security processes and operating models.
21. Ability to drive end‑to‑end solution design using structured, user‑centric, outcome‑based approaches.
22. Skilled in developing quantitative and qualitative business cases with clear benefit realisation.
23. Strong problem‑solving mindset with the ability to share best practices, tools, and templates.
24. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting complex technical information to non‑technical audiences.
25. Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills across all organisational levels.
26. Effective leader of both local and remote teams.
27. Commitment to continuous learning and keeping pace with emerging technologies and practices.
28. Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
