Job overview
This post will be within the Acute Directorate (Dartford Locality) and based at Littlebrook hospital. It is a 10 PA per week role providing senior medical input and leadership to Cherrywood ward, a 17-bed, female-only, acute psychiatric unit.
This opportunity arises due to the previous post holder progressing in their career. Supervision will be provided by the ward consultant.
Applicants must have full GMC registration, including a licence to practice.
MHA Section 12(2) Approval holders will contribute to a middle-tier non-residential on-call rota. Specialty doctors without Section 12 (2) Approval are encouraged to work towards this with support.
Main duties of the job
* Support psychiatric services for the area/specialty, specifically Cherrywood ward.
* Manage clinical care and planning for patients on this ward, including MDT meetings, CPAs, liaising with families, and MHA-related work.
* Participate in daily clinical reviews, discharge planning, and Section 117 meetings as needed, collaborating with the consultant and MDT.
* Prepare reports with supervision and attend Mental Health Act Tribunals when required.
* With patient consent, involve families and carers in treatment planning.
