Overview
We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join our Speech and Language Therapy teams at University Hospitals Dorset (UHD).
Responsibilities
Working with patients with complex swallowing and communication disorders in critical care, respiratory, cardiology, gastroenterology, trauma, orthopaedics, oncology, stroke, neurology and older persons medicine, this post provides opportunity for growth and development within a supportive team environment.
In addition, the service includes regular Videofluoroscopy clinics, run jointly with the radiology department.
We are happy to consider applicants from individuals wanting a static acute post or those wanting a rotational post. Rotations include acute, stroke, Early Supported Discharge and NeuroSMART.
Rota: Weekend working and bank holiday cover will be required as part of this role.
Base Location: The Royal Bournemouth Hospital. While the role is predominantly based at The Royal Bournemouth Hospital, the post holder will also be expected to work at Poole Hospital, as part of University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust and from Canford House, Wallisdown if rotating to ESD.

Qualifications
This role requires HCPC Registration.
The successful applicant will have specialist clinical knowledge and skills in the management of dysphagia and communication difficulties and will work closely with senior members of the team to provide excellent patient care.
