What you will do
1. Design culture: Lead in shaping and developing our design standards, and instill a design culture in the company as a whole — we want everyone to value and understand the role of design
2. User-centered focus: Your focus will be on ensuring that the user experience is at the forefront, aligning design with user needs and expectations.
3. Design generation: You'll be responsible for creating visual designs, wireframes, and prototypes that translate ideas into user-friendly interfaces.
4. Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and stakeholders, to ensure design aligns with the broader product vision.
5. User research: Dive into user research, aiming to understand user behaviours’, preferences, and pain points, using this knowledge to drive the design process and data-informed decision-making.
6. Usability Testing: You'll be conducting usability tests to gather valuable feedback from users, enabling design refinement based on real-world user interactions and insights.
7. Build deep knowledge of the needs of our customers, their businesses, and the FBO One product

We're in search of an individual who places the user at the heart of their design approach and is enthusiastic about participating in our journey of discovery, experimentation, and crafting seamless user experiences.
You will excel at defining processes and shaping a design culture in the company. Crucially, you think about the user's perspective from concept to execution, and you're not afraid to take the lead in design.
In our close-knit and hands-on company, you might find yourself contributing across various business areas when needed. Flexibility and an open-minded approach are highly valued. Effective communication is essential, as your capacity to lead meetings and workshops will be invaluable in this role.
What you will bring along
8. A mindset for design system thinking and consistent, reusable patterns, with experience defining user journeys and that rely on complex workflows.
9. Led product design implementation as part of a cross-functional team.
10. Experience designing interfaces and interactions for web applications. You will excel if you have experience with SaaS-based products.
11. A portfolio that helps us understand your Product Design approach and experience. Ideally, the portfolio would tell us about the approach you took and what you learned, rather than only showcasing final designs. 12. 5+ years of Product Design experience in a software-driven company
13. Experience with SaaS and B2B software products preferred.
14. Knowledge of industry-standard tools, such as Figma, plus aptitude to learn new tools and methodologies.
15. The ability to embrace ambiguity and adapt to an ever-changing environment, and you thrive in a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and continuous change.
16. Confidence in communicating and getting your ideas across.

We are a small company and team, but with significant responsibilities to ensure our customers can run 24/7 effectively and securely at over 150 locations. We are a remote virtual team with a base in The Netherlands but with staff in the US, UK, Sweden, Romania, and strangely the Mauritius Island.
