Job responsibilities Act as an expert with up to date knowledge of national standards and support compliance inthese across the Trust. Liaise with internal and external teams on a regular basis sharing information to support thehealth and wellbeing of people with a learning disability. Ensures that the Trust is compliant with the CQC fundamental standards with regards tolearning disabilities. Provide learning disability advice as required to professionals in other agencies andorganisations, to promote safe and evidence based practice in relation to learning disabilities. Represent and deputise for the Mental Capacity Act Lead Nurse at relevant meetings whenrequired, contributing a required. Ensure a culture of acceptance and understanding by all health professionals of theirresponsibilities for the learning disability agenda. Participate in and disseminate the learning from LeDeR investigations, Case Reviews andcomplex incidents and assist in the implementation of recommendations for health. Keep up to date on legislative, guidance and best practice changes and help to ensure theseinform the work of the Trust. Maintain awareness of CQC Standards and significant publications relevant to the NHS qualityagenda. Ensure advice and support is available to colleagues within the Trust on learning disabilityissues. Lead on specific projects and investigations on behalf of the Integrated Safeguarding teamwhere appropriate. Provide specialist learning disability advice to staff and to liaise accordingly with otherprofessional and agencies as required.
