Management Accountant, Wilmslow, Cheshire About Us A newly established national Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) consolidator, PE backed. They are highly ambitious and looking to build one of the UK's leading Independent Financial Planning groups by bringing together high‑quality advisory firms within a strong, supportive central structure. They are entering an exciting phase of rapid growth and are expanding the finance team now and are looking for a Management Accountant to join the Wilmslow head office. This is a rare opportunity to join a Private equity‑backed business at an early stage and play a key role in building the best‑in‑class finance function. The Role Based in Wilmslow alongside the senior management team and central functions, this is a broad and hands‑on role covering day‑to‑day finance operations, management reporting, and supporting the integration of newly acquired businesses. You will work closely with an experienced finance team, gain exposure to senior stakeholders, and have excellent scope for progression as the group continues to scale. Key Responsibilities Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, bank postings, and supplier management Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and highlight risks or discrepancies Support preparation of Board packs and investor reporting for the Private Equity sponsor. Assist with the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors Work with external tax advisers to ensure compliance Support preparation of FCA returns (RMAR) Assist with integration of finance processes, systems, and controls from acquired businesses Support consolidation of acquired entities into group reporting Help design and improve financial processes and controls to support growth Contribute to strategic projects and ad‑hoc initiatives led by the CFO and Board What We're Looking For You will be a part‑qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with experience in a management accounting role. You'll bring strong core accounting knowledge, high attention to detail, and a proactive, problem‑solving mindset. Good Excel skills and experience working with finance systems are important, along with the confidence to engage with senior stakeholders. This position, in its early stages, will require a hands-on, adaptable approach, getting involved with daily accounting duties right through to month and year-end.
