What is the role?
The purpose of the role is to provide effective financial support to the local senior management team, actively participate in decision-making and evaluation processes, and ensure all Group reporting requirements are achieved.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Management and responsibility for all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting of the Regional business, ensuring all Group reporting deadlines are met.
2. Attend and contribute to all local company Board meetings and bi-monthly Valuation Review meetings.
3. Provide financial assistance and decision-making support to the local company senior management team.
4. Supervise a small team of accounts staff to ensure routine transactions and monthly payments meet deadlines and adhere to prompt payment policies.
5. Develop and maintain financial policies, ensuring adherence to Group financial procedures for consistent, accurate, and robust accounting information.
6. Review and challenge site valuation forecasts as a key control of the business.
7. Ensure quality assurance of VAT and SDLT/LBTT payments related to land transactions.
8. Ensure system integrity, particularly with COINS, and the accuracy of data processed and stored.
What experience do I need?
* Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA), preferably with experience in a Management Accountant role managing a small finance team.
* Confident team player with a hands-on attitude, capable of communicating complex issues to non-financial staff.
* Good commercial awareness, with the ability to interpret, review, and challenge financial data.
* Strong time management and planning skills to handle multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience in the construction or house building industry is advantageous but not essential. Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, is helpful.
