are supporting a London-based property development and investment company to recruit a
Property Accountant.
Our client have a focus on repositioning and developing income-generating real estate, in areas such as student accommodation, hotels and commercial assets.
This role is, effectively, a
management accountant
role (
not service charge
for eg) supporting a completely new operational asset that they have recently completed on, and will take ownership for running the finances for this new asset.
Key Responsibilities:
* Financial Reporting
: prepare and present project-level financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow forecasts.
* Metrics & Occupancy Reporting
: structure and collect data to produce key performance indicators (KPIs) for projects, as well as prepare other vital reports like Occupancy statements and debt reports.
* Budgeting & Forecasting
: assist in preparing project budgets and conduct variance analysis to measure performance against actual spend.
* Accounts Payable & Receivable
: manage project-specific ledgers and ensure all invoices are accurately processed, approved, and paid in a timely manner.
* Tax & Compliance
: handle VAT returns and other tax-related filings for each project.
* Stakeholder Communication
: Act as the primary finance contact for internal and external stakeholders.
What we are looking for and expected qualifications:
* A part-qualified through to Finalist level management accountant (CIMA, ACCA etc)
* As many of the processes for this new asset are still in their infancy, we're looking for someone that is prepared and experienced enough to come in and implement these.
* You should have demonstrable experience in a project-based accounting role, preferably within the real estate or private equity sectors (this is preferred, but not a pre-requisite).
* A strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices is essential.
* Proficiency in accounting software like Xero and advanced Excel skills are a must.
Salary: £50-55,000
This is an office based role (5 days p/w) and our client are very centrally located in London.
