An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Adult Mental Health Services as a Medical Records Clerk/Receptionist .

Main duties of the job

We currently have one part-time position, 22.5 hours per week, available at the Ribchester Centre. The working hours are Wednesday, Thursday 9.00am till 5.00pm, and Friday 8.30am till 4.30pm, excluding bank holidays.

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to join the Outpatients Department in the Adult Mental Health Service.

To be responsible for booking and arranging outpatient appointments, ensuring patient records are updated accurately, receiving and dispatching medical notes as well as other duties to ensure the department meets all customer and patient services.

You should have excellent IT, communication and administration skills, be well organised with a meticulous approach to work and attention to detail. You will be proactive and able to manage your own working time effectively. You must have a comprehensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages. High standards of professionalism and a desire to learn will be essential. The post involves moving paper records subject to manual handling guidelines under the terms of the Equality Act 2010.

Occasional cross-cover may be required at a second outpatient clinic site, Irwell building, Fairfield General Hospital. Sufficient notice will be given in order to meet service needs if the need arises.

* Knowledge and experience of Information Technology systems to NVQ 2 level.
* Good level of written English and basic Mathematics.
