An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading Tier One civil engineering contractor delivering major AMP8 clean and waste water infrastructure projects across the South East.
This role offers the chance to work on long-term, secured frameworks delivering essential utilities and environmental infrastructure projects that improve water network performance and reduce pollution across rivers and coastal communities.
This is an ideal opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor seeking long-term career progression, hybrid working, and involvement in high-profile UK infrastructure projects.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will join an established commercial team supporting the successful delivery of complex design & build projects under NEC Conditions of Contract.
You will play a key role in the commercial management of water, utilities, and civil engineering projects from pre-construction through to final account.
Key Responsibilities
* Commercial management of AMP8 water infrastructure projects
* Cost forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting
* Value engineering and margin improvement
* Subcontract procurement and contract administration
* Drafting subcontract agreements and professional services contracts
* NEC contract management and change control
* WIP management and cash flow optimisation
* Client and stakeholder relationship management
* Agreement of final accounts
* Supporting bids, tenders, and PQQ submissions
* Working closely with Project Managers and operational teams
Requirements
* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, utilities, infrastructure, or water sectors
* Strong knowledge of NEC Conditions of Contract
* Experience working for a main contractor or Tier One contractor
* Excellent commercial and contractual awareness
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
* Ambitious and career-focused with a desire to progress into a Managing Quantity Surveyor role
