Overview
Night Manager role at Hyde Johannesburg Rosebank. This position oversees the overnight front desk, ensuring a smooth transition between day and night teams and providing exceptional guest service in the absence of senior management.
Responsibilities
* Oversee the overnight operation of Front Office and coordinate with other departments to maintain service excellence.
* Monitor night operations, proactively resolve issues, and follow up with Heads of Departments as needed.
* Perform Front Desk duties when required and provide visible leadership in guest-facing areas during high-demand periods.
* Act as the main point of contact for guest issues and complaints; resolve them promptly and professionally.
* Ensure accurate documentation and follow-up on guest concerns and feedback in coordination with senior management.
* Serve as the hotel’s first responder to emergencies (e.g., fire alarms, medical situations, and technical faults) and coordinate actions with relevant departments.
* Ensure thorough incident reporting and escalation to Security Manager and senior leadership when required.
* Support front-line staff during the shift, especially in the absence of a manager or supervisor.

To be successful in this role we ask that you have
* Previous management experience within a Front Desk/Office environment.
* Ability to work overnight.
* Previous experience in a 4/5 star hotel or high-profile events.
* High level of Microsoft Office proficiency.
* Ability to lead and direct teams.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to multi-task, prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
* Keen eye for detail.
