Teaching Personnel are seeking a skilled and reliable Design & Technology Technician to support busy secondary school D&T departments. This is a fantastic opportunity for candidates with practical workshop experience who are looking to work within an education setting.
About the Role
As a D&T Technician, you will play a key role in supporting practical lessons across areas such as Resistant Materials, Product Design, Engineering, and Graphics. You will work closely with teaching staff to ensure equipment, tools, and materials are prepared safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare materials, tools, and equipment for practical D&T lessons
* Maintain and service workshop machinery and hand tools
* Support students and teachers during practical sessions when required
* Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times
* Manage stock levels and order materials when necessary
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment
What We Are Looking For:
* Experience working with tools, machinery, or in a workshop environment
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations (COSHH knowledge desirable)
* Practical skills in woodwork, metalwork, or engineering (desirable)
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* A proactive and flexible approach
Requirements:
* GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
* Right to work in the UK
