Hours: Monday–Thursday 07:00–16:00, Friday 07:00–13:30
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced CMM Operator/Programmer to join a precision engineering team in Solihull on a temporary basis. This initial 4-week contract may be extended through to the end of the year, depending on workload and performance.
The successful candidate will create and run CMM programs to ensure all components meet tight dimensional and quality requirements. This role requires a strong background in Automotive manufacturing, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate and write CMM programs using PC-DMIS software for complex components and assemblies.
* Perform dimensional inspections in accordance with engineering drawings and GD&T standards.
* Analyse and interpret measurement data, producing detailed inspection reports.
* Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve dimensional or tolerance-related issues.
* Maintain calibration and performance of CMM equipment.
* (Bonus) Operate 3D scanning equipment and perform analysis using PolyWorks software.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a CMM Operator/Programmer within the Automotive industry.
* Proficient in PC-DMIS (offline and/or online programming).
* Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and technical drawing interpretation.
* Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
* (Desirable) Experience using PolyWorks and 3D scanning systems.
