Role Summary
This role is 40 hours per week working an alternative shift (0600-1400 or 1400-2200). The main purpose of the Team Leader (Grade 7) is to lead, motivate, develop and encourage our team to deliver the daily production targets to an agreed standard. From 1st May 2026 pay will be £18.19 per hour + shift allowance + bonus + benefits.
Responsibilities
* Working towards departmental KPI’s; Right first time, 100% plan attainment, labour, waste & efficiency.
* Ensure adherence to rules, procedures & standards in regard to managing your team and their absences (up to level 2 cautions).
* Identify & facilitate ways for team members to develop and arrange their training keeping up to date records on the department matrix.
* Planning labour week to week and ordering agency staff as required.
* Undertake ‘Intermediate Food Hygiene’ training at a pass level, take an active role in implementing 5 S methods and promote continuous improvement in hygiene standards by adopting a ‘clean as you go’ policy.
* Completing documentation; all KPI information, complete devaluation forms as required, ensure all production documents are completed (as appropriate).
* All QFSA sheets must be completed accurately, start‑up sheets, H&S checks, temperature documentation and carry out or participate in audits.
* H&S; Ensure compliance with business H&S policies, ensure accurate H&S records, thorough accident reporting and investigation, keep accidents to a minimum by adopting good house‑keeping and ‘clean as you go’, create a safety awareness culture through training, actively participate in departmental risk assessments, undertake formal H&S training made available through the business.
* Ensure clear lines of communication by actively encouraging feedback from team with open and honest discussions on production targets and conduct daily reviews of performance with team in order to drive improvements, labour and material utilisation.
* Help the business be environmentally friendly by ensuring that waste is segregated appropriately so it can be sent to the correct point of disposal/recycling and by keeping waste to a minimum (e.g. making products right first time). Have a can‑do attitude; will try to learn other tasks in the department if required. Promote good team work – help others. “It’s not my job” does not promote good team work. Have a desire to help the team meet the department targets, and undertake any training made available/organized.
* Continuous improvement of technical and hygiene standards.
Essential Qualifications
* Good standards of English and Maths.
* Basic computer skills in Word and Excel.
Desirable Qualifications
* Level 3 Food Safety.
* IOSH Managing Safety, Behavioral Safety.
