JOB TITLE: GRADUATE TOWN PLANNERLOCATION: ABINGDON
Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established, design-led consultancy in their search for a Graduate Town Planner to join their team in Abingdon.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Graduate Planner with some experience to join a respected consultancy, working across a diverse portfolio of projects including residential, mixed-use, and urban regeneration schemes. The successful candidate will gain valuable hands-on experience and exposure to all aspects of the planning process.
THE ROLE
As a Graduate Town Planner, you will support the delivery of planning projects from early-stage feasibility through to submission and determination.
You will work closely with senior team members, gaining experience across a range of sectors while developing your technical skills and understanding of the planning system within a collaborative and creative environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supporting the preparation and submission of planning applications Assisting with site appraisals and feasibility assessments Preparing planning statements and supporting documentation Conducting planning policy research and analysis Liaising with Local Planning Authorities and stakeholders Supporting senior planners on a range of projects Attending site visits, meetings, and consultations Assisting with project coordination and documentation
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or a related discipline Some experience within a planning consultancy or local authority environment Working towards MRTPI (or keen to begin the process) Strong written and verbal communication skills Good organisational skills and attention to detail A proactive and enthusiastic approach to learning and development
