The Vacancy
As part of the Early Careers Team, this role is accountable for supporting Wates trainees and apprentices as they embark on their professional journey. Responsible for leading on the end-to-end learning and development lifecycle process from development, design, management and delivery of EC projects to enable our Early Careers population to successfully progress through the promotion gateway.
Key Accountabilities Include:
1. Develop, design, and deliver a new corporate graduate scheme that addresses business challenges and successfully develops future leaders by providing bespoke skills and behavioural training, wrap around support and continuous professional development.
2. Work collaboratively with Line Managers, HR Business Partners and other stakeholders to identify, develop and design the most appropriate form of learning for trainees and apprentices from behavioural & professional development workshops through to PQ and chartership pathways. Create engaging content to ensure our early talent are equipped with the relevant skills to navigate successfully through their learning journey.
3. Create and maintain relevant guidance notes, and associated learning material to support operational elements and provide clarity for line managers and key stakeholders in their collective responsibilities and accountabilities
4. Inform continuous improvement whilst managing relationships with appropriate external delivery partners.
5. Manage reward and recognition activity to include an annual reward and recognition event for successfully promoted trainees.
6. Work with the Early Careers Manager to create a clear transition pathway off the trainee programme and progression pathway through to grade F.
7. Represent, as part of the team and when required delivery of careers events, trainee assessment centres, networking events, induction, and onboarding activity.
8. Represent the Wates trainee landscape with both internal and external stakeholders.
9. Collate and report performance metrics to the EC Manager and stakeholders.

To be successful in this role you will be a highly driven and motivated team player with:
10. Understanding of the graduate/apprentice landscape
11. Experience within a learning and development setting
12. Experience using a learning management system
13. Confident in presenting and delivering training to the business both virtually and face to face
14. Proven track record of relationship building and cross functional working with multiple stakeholders
15. Experience of good project management and project delivery
16. Experience of supplier engagement and management
17. Effective in influencing and managing key stakeholders
18. Determination and drive to deliver great results
19. Good organisation skills and ability to meet deadlines
20. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and confident in talking to people at all levels
