Material Control & Data Administration Coordinator | Shirebrook | £26,000 - £32,000 | 18-Month Fixed Term
The Opportunity
We are representing a leading rail engineering specialist seeking a proactive Coordinator to manage the critical flow of material data and documentation. This is an 18-month fixed-term contract with a strong possibility of becoming permanent, offering a stable career path within a major engineering group.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a busy, industrial environment and prefers to take ownership of their workload rather than being micro-managed. You will play a vital role in ensuring that all materials are accurately recorded in the system and that technical documentation is fully prepared before production begins, helping the site run efficiently.
Responsibilities:
SAGE & Inventory Accuracy: Maintain real-time material records in SAGE, processing stock movements, adjustments, and cycle counts to ensure system data matches physical inventory.
Technical Documentation: Manage the end-to-end flow of material test certificates, ensuring all packs are verified and prepared before materials arrive to allow immediate release to the shop floor.
Procurement Support: Assist with processing purchase orders, goods received notes (GRNs), and delivery documentation while monitoring for potential material shortages.
Production Coordination: Ensure accurate kitting information and clear material status visibility to support seamless operations between the Stores and Production teams.
Reporting & Admin: Generate stock status reports and simple dashboards to provide the Material Controller and Operations team with actionable data for decision-making.
The Candidate:
The successful candidate will be highly organised and comfortable working in a "blue-collar" or engineering setting. You must have previous experience using an ERP system (SAGE is highly preferred) and a high level of attention to detail. We are looking for a self-starter who can manage technical paperwork and stock data independently. Strong IT proficiency (MS Office) is essential, alongside a willingness to learn how to review technical material certificates.

Salary: £26,000 - £32,000 (Based on experience).
