Key Responsibilities And Duties
* Work as part of the planning team to deliver a range of planning projects; may project manage and lead other disciplines within a multi-disciplinary delivery team.
* Write and review planning deliverables to a high standard, including options appraisals, consenting strategies, planning policy preparation, and documents for planning applications, TWAOs, DCOs and other consents.
* Lead and coordinate the preparation of planning applications, managing inputs from junior staff, colleagues across the business, and sub-consultants.
* Liaise with Local Planning Authorities / Statutory Consultees to ensure timely registration and determination of applications.
* Prepare inputs and potentially lead bids for new work.
* Support more junior staff in chartership and professional development.
* Support the growth of the Northern Planning team, developing the regional presence and liaising with clients to raise the profile of the planning team both internally and externally.
Candidate specification
Essential
* Degree and/or Masters in Town Planning
* Extensive town planning experience
* Chartered Member of the RTPI
* Experience of preparing and submitting planning applications, drafting reports, feasibility studies, masterplans and regeneration strategies
* Experience of working with a range of client bodies including private and public sector
* Experience delivering varied infrastructure, regeneration and environmental projects
* Experience in overseeing and/or project managing multidisciplinary projects
* Experience of supporting and mentoring junior staff
* Experience of team working to support project delivery
* Experience of financial accountability for projects and delivering within budget
