Tremendous opportunity for people with high voltage installation, operations and maintenance experience to join an Independent Connection Provider (ICP) that specialises in turnkey HV solutions in the renewable energy and private network sectors. Positions are available across the Midlands, Southern England, the North East, Scottish Borders and Glasgow area.
Working in the organisation's O&M department, the main purpose of the role is to carry out planned, preventative and emergency maintenance of HV equipment, such as transformers and switchgear, mainly at 11kV and 33kV.
Positions are available for Senior Authorised Persons (SAPs) and Authorised Persons (APs) or for HV Engineers with O&M experience looking for the opportunity to progress into a SAP role.
Duties:
1. Inspect and maintain HV equipment found in a substation
2. Perform protection testing
3. Troubleshoot and fault find HV equipment
4. Install transformers and switchgear
5. Conduct earthing tests
6. Carry out HV switching, write switching schedules, issue permits and safety documentation
7. Put together work plans, quotes and RAMS
8. Coordinate the work of technicians
9. Carry out LV and HV jointing and cable terminations
10. Liaise with clients and other stakeholders
