Job summary
The Hotel Services Catering Assistant is responsible to the Hotel ServicesSupervisor to undertake a range of catering duties, which include thepreparation of beverages, snacks, salads, sandwiches, buffets and cooking ofhot meals for both patients and staff within the Health Board. To carry outother relevant duties associated with the catering operation and periodicallythose as directed to support the wider Hotel Services Team cleaning orporter tasks.
Main duties of the job
We are looking to recruit to a Hotel Services Catering Assistant at Llanidloes.
You will support the local delivery of hotel services catering and associated facilities activities, ensuring that they are delivered at the levels agreed and that they meet with full compliance with all appropriate legislation and local policies and procedures. You will need to be self-motivated, have a flexible approach to work, able to work as part of a team and have the ability to work on your own initiative. Previous experience is an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be given. You will be working as part of a rota that can include evenings and weekends.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply

Qualifications

3. Literacy and Numeracy L1 or equivalent
4. Knowledge gained on corporate and local induction, completion of internal training programme within 6/8 weeks, to include: Appropriate Health and Safety Training. Fire Training. Moving and handling skills. Cleanliness Champion training. Knowledge of policies and procedures. Knowledge of the site. Elementary food hygiene. Successful completion of agreed minimum training within the first 12 months of employment
Desirable
5. To have gained a Level 2 NVQ in catering or equivalent or are willing to participate in further training to achieve it
6. To have gained a Level 2 in numeracy and literacy or equivalent or are willing to participate in further training to achieve it.
7. To have gained or have previously held a CIEH Level 2 or equivalent food safety qualification.

8. To have gained sufficient experience in the catering industry to be able to demonstrate an understanding of safe working practices in a kitchen environment and professional techniques that would meet the requirements within this role.
