Field Engineer - IT Support
Location: London (Field-based)
Contract: 3 months (Inside IR35)
Day Rate: £180/day
We’re working with a client who are seeking a proactive and reliable Field Engineer to support our IT operations across multiple sites in London. This is a field-based role, ideal for someone who enjoys being on the move and working directly with end users.
Responsibilities:
* Delivering laptop refresh projects (deployment, configuration, and collection of old devices)
* Supporting onboarding and offboarding of employees – ensuring laptops and peripherals are issued, configured, and returned securely
* Providing first-line and basic second-line IT support on-site (troubleshooting, hardware swaps, password resets, connectivity issues)
* Keeping accurate logs of all hardware movements and updates in the asset management system
* Liaising with the central IT support team to escalate and resolve complex issues
* Managing daily schedules to cover multiple sites efficiently
Must Have:
* A full UK driving licence (travel required)
* Previous experience in field-based IT support or desktop engineering
* Strong working knowledge of Windows laptops, Office 365, and common IT tools
* Good understanding of IT asset management processes and security protocols
* Excellent communication and organisational skills – able to work independently
* Flexibility to adapt to changing site requirements and priorities
