Workshop Fleet Supervisor
This is a role for a senior Technician currently who is looking to take their career to the next level. You will be responsible for the productivity and overall efficiencies of a busy workshop. Your remit will be to oversee the day to day activity and you will be ensuring that Jobs are allocated via a card system to the Vehicle Engineers. You will also be working on the companies outstanding fleet of high spec bespoke vehicles, so current mechanical experience is still very much required for the role. It is anticipated that your day to day duties will be 60/40 on the spanners. Making sure that the work has been carried to the correct specifications and within the time frames. Liaising with the Parts Department to ensure the correct equipment is being used to carry out the repairs.
Responsibilities

* Work on the company\'s fleet of high spec bespoke vehicles; maintain current mechanical knowledge as the role requires.
* Coordinate with workshop staff to manage workflow and resource allocation (60/40 split between spanners and hands-on work).
* Engage with internal and external stakeholders in high-pressure situations with a cool, professional demeanor.
* Supervise a team of highly skilled Fitters handling Diesel, hybrid and fully electric vehicles, staying up to date with modern vehicle technologies.
Vehicles & Technical Scope
* Vehicles worked on range from heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), road tankers, MOD, GSE, gritters, RCVs (refuse collection vehicles), and road sweepers.
* The workshop is responsible for routine and preventative maintenance, MOT preparation, DVSA-standard servicing, 6 (or 8) weekly inspections, running defect corrections, chassis and fabrication work, hydraulics and pneumatics, vehicle standard improvements, and electrical and wiring inspections/corrections.
* Fitting staff will handle Diesel, hybrid and fully electric vehicles; knowledge of modern vehicle technologies is important.
Qualifications & Skills
* Ideally fully qualified (City & Guilds), NVQ or equivalent.
* Experience in a similar role within an HGV or Council Fleet workshop environment with strong commercial vehicle knowledge.
* Very good people skills; able to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
* Experience with vehicle transaction systems and solid IT skills.
