Bellrock is a UK property services company that provides estate management solutions. The Building Surveyor will work from our Edinburgh or Glasgow office and support our building surveying team on a variety of public and private sector projects.
Responsibilities
* Carry out day‑to‑day building surveying duties on allocated projects.
* Prepare measured surveys, including floor plans, elevations, and details on AutoCAD (must be AutoCAD proficient).
* Conduct building condition surveys, produce schedules of condition and defects diagnosis inspections.
* Develop measured surveys and design drawings for new construction and refurbishment projects.
* Assist with project building surveying tasks such as statutory consent applications, tender documents, project monitoring, and contract administration.
* Identify building defects, faults and failures, and propose solution options including estimated costs and programme timelines (building pathology).
* Prepare planned maintenance programmes and elemental cost estimates for property management.
* Prepare pre‑construction information and health and safety files for CDM services (desirable).
* Mentor junior staff and support resource management for the team.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Building Surveying BSc or BSc (Hons) degree accredited by RICS, or currently working towards accreditation.
* Competency in AutoCAD and measured survey as essential.
* Knowledge of refurbishment and alteration of existing buildings is essential.
* Relevant building surveying consultancy experience is essential.
* Full UK driving licence with personal vehicle access.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a desire to progress your career with a leading consultancy.
* Strong organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
* Proactive, solutions‑focused attitude, with ownership of tasks and projects.
* Commitment to continuous professional development and progression towards chartership (RICS).
* AI fluency and learning mindset – active use of AI and curiosity about new technologies.
Working Arrangements
Work from the office at Summers‑Inman, Suite 4, Pavilion 1, The Quadrant, 14 New Mart Road, Edinburgh, EH14 1RL, with flexible home‑based hours. Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
