Bow Community Primary School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Clerk to the Governors who has excellent administrative, interpersonal and communication skills and is keen to support the work of our Governing Body in our friendly, forward thinking rural school.
You will be responsible for:
1. Attend all governor meetings and take and produce accurate minutes and maintain Governor records
2. Demonstrate discretion, confidentiality and flexibility in all matters
3. Be IT literate and have excellent administration skills
4. Liaise with the local authority Governors Services Team and attend termly clerk briefings
5. Preparation, typing and distribution of agendas and associated paperwork
6. Maintaining accurate records of the Governing Body and its membership
7. Advising the Governing Body on procedural issues, legal responsibilities and constitutional matters
8. Policy preparation, maintenance, and distribution to staff and Governors
Knowledge of how schools and governing bodies operate would be an advantage along with previous experience of similar work.
