Electrical Installation Manager
Salary £40,000 - £50,000 + Company Vehicle, Phone, & Tablet + Pension
A reputable renewable energy company is seeking an Electrical Installation Manager with experience in renewables to join it's team. The role involves overseeing primarily residential installations, with occasional commercial projects, across the South East region.
You will ensure all Solar PV, Battery Storage, and EV Charger installations are delivered to industry standards, completed on time and within budget, and fully compliant with all health and safety requirements, electrical regulations, and best‑practice guidelines.
Key Duties
* Plan and conduct technical surveys, prepare sites, and coordinate with clients, scaffolders, and stakeholders to ensure smooth installations while supporting the Project Manager and office team.
* Lead and manage Solar PV, Battery, and EV Charger installation teams, including subcontractors, ensuring high-quality workmanship and full compliance with OHM standards, regulations, manufacturer guidance, Health & Safety, and CDM requirements.
* Oversee on-site installation performance, providing technical support, troubleshooting, commissioning, testing, and verifying systems to meet performance and compliance expectations.
* Manage all documentation (RAMS, commissioning sheets, photos), resource usage, and materials; collaborate with the office, suppliers, and installers to control costs, reduce waste, and maintain quality and profitability.
* Train, mentor, and develop team members, resolve technical complaints, assist with remedial works, communicate with clients, and grow the team’s capacity, capability, and professionalism.
Requirements
* NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation (or equivalent, e.g., C&G 2365/2360 Part 1 & 2)
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
* C&G 2391/2394/2395 Inspection & Testing
* Project management experience in domestic or commercial installations
* Skilled in testing, commissioning, inspection, and fault-finding across electrical and renewable systems
* Knowledge of MCS standards, DNO notifications, Part P, CDM, and Health & Safety compliance
* Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and manufacturer documentation
* Experience leading installation teams or supervising subcontractors
* Full UK driving licence
