Contracts Officer – Sexual Health Services
* Hourly Pay: £17.18 PAYE
* Location: Sheffield, S1 / Hybrid working
* Job Type: Full-time, interim
We are seeking a committed Contracts Officer to support the commissioning and contract management of sexual health services within our Public Health and Wellbeing portfolio. This role is vital in ensuring high-quality, compliant, and outcomes-focused service provision that meets the needs of local communities.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Support the commissioning, procurement, and contract monitoring of sexual health services, ensuring they align with the strategic objectives of Public Health.
* Ensure all contracting and procurement activity complies with Standing Orders, the Procurement Strategy, and relevant national public health regulations.
* Prepare, issue, and manage contract documentation and oversee the implementation of effective contract management arrangements.
* Assist in managing formal processes to ensure contract compliance and support actions relating to service variation or contract termination when required.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for procurement and contract activity in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
* Undertake monitoring activities, including performance reviews, quality audits, and analysis of service data to ensure services deliver safe and effective outcomes.
* Participate in meetings with sexual health service providers and conduct site visits to ensure quality standards, clinical governance, and public health outcomes are met.
* Collaborate with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders across Public Health, the NHS, and voluntary sector providers to support integrated and responsive service delivery.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Knowledge of government legislation and policy relating to sexual health, public health, and adult health services.
* Strong understanding of commissioning, procurement, and contracting processes within health or public sector settings.
* Experience in service development, particularly within health services, using a structured project management approach.
* Confident IT skills, including the ability to create documents, analyse data, and support financial reporting.
* Excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills, with the ability to address challenges and achieve positive provider relationships.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Commitment to equality, inclusion, and understanding the needs of diverse communities accessing sexual health services.
* Relevant training and/or qualifications in public health, commissioning, health management, or a related field.
